Should I really waste my breath addressing how poorly the Redskins played against Atlanta? Aside from the fact that their performance last Sunday is fodder for the world's columnists, scoffers and ridiculers, anything I say to this point will be the same old tune we've heard for the past 10 years. So no, I won't waste your time and valuable cyber-space on the matter of how they suck. Rather I would like to point out how Sunday's performance is another clear indication of how ownership has destroyed the coaches, players and fans more severely than we had previously thought in these past 10 dark years for the Redskins.
As bad as the playing and execution of plays was, it wasn't the worst part of the Redskins performance this last Sunday. It was really the demoralized, defeated and whimpering attitude that has grown apparent in the visage of the league's most expensive players and coaches. It is really pathetic. When players resort to aggressive behavior on the sideline of the opposing team, this is normally an indication of whining and frustration among the aggressors. In this case, it was the Redskins defense. The offense had its moments, but when an obstacle emerged, rather than claw back to fight out of the hole, they just gave up. When players get hurt more often over the course of a game, this too is an indication of whimpering and whining. They are so ashamed to be on the field that they would rather get hurt or pretend to get hurt rather than face the fans as a loser. If they are hurt they can say, "I had nothing to do with that loss."
We can't let the players, coaches and ownership off that easily. Stop asking for autographs, stop buying jerseys, stop giving ownerhip money to give to these players who have clearly given up the fight. They are no longer giving the fans anything why should we give anything back? We shouldn't. So stop it. If you are a real and loyal Redskins fan you will follow this remedy to the letter. Nothing else will enable us to get our team back.
